I love fresh mint tea because it is so very yummy and has countless health benefits. It is primarily used as an incribale source for easement of the digestive system and calming of the mind. And I recently learned one of the best ways to drink tea to get the most benifits out of it - there was one secret I didn't know.

  • Using fresh mint leaves if possible, which you can get from any grocery store or you can easily grow it in an herb garden. If not get organic dried leaves.

  • Use warm water to brew your tea for 3 to 5 minutes.

  • The key is to always pair it with natural sweetener such as honey or raw sugar. (no processed white sugar please) The importance of this is because the combination of the sweetener with the mint is what helps in the most smoothing way possible for digestion. This is why you are served very sweet tea everywhere you go in Morocco.

  • Tip - fresh lemon and ginger are wonderful pairs to also be added to your Mint tea as they are both great for digestion - however I would only recommend to do this during the day as both of these ingredients are stimulants.
